GreenYellow supports CMC’s energy transformation through photovoltaic installation in Andrychów

GreenYellow, a trusted partner supporting business energy transformation, has signed an agreement with CMC Sp. z o.o., one of Europe’s leading wooden pallet manufacturers. As part of the cooperation, GreenYellow will finance, design and build a 653 kWp photovoltaic installation on the roof of the production facility in Andrychów, and will also handle its maintenance. Thanks to the investment, the company will significantly reduce its carbon footprint and lower electricity costs.

As part of the cooperation, the roof of the CMC factory will be equipped with a 653 kWp photovoltaic installation. The system will consist of approximately 1,500 high-efficiency monocrystalline panels of the latest generation, characterized by high energy conversion efficiency. The total mounting area of the panels will be approximately 3,000 m2, which corresponds to almost half a football field – and will allow avoiding emissions of over 355 tons of CO2 annually.

Annual electricity production is estimated at approximately 689 MWh, which will reduce the plant’s demand for primary energy, particularly in energy-intensive wood drying processes. The generated energy will be used exclusively for CMC’s own needs, without introducing it to the power grid.

Sustainable development in practice

The project is implemented in a PV-as-a-Service model, in which GreenYellow Polska is comprehensively responsible for every stage of the investment – from needs analysis and energy audit, through design, financing and construction of the installation, to its commissioning, ongoing maintenance and 24/7 monitoring.

This project is a concrete expression of GreenYellow Polska’s strategy, aimed at accelerating the energy transformation of commercial and industrial entities throughout the country.

“By supporting CMC in this investment, we want to show that energy transformation does not have to mean complicated processes or a burden on the company’s financial balance. The installation in Andrychów is an example of a solution that combines technology at the highest level, guarantee of stable energy supplies and real environmental benefits. Thanks to the PV-as-a-Service model, the company can focus on its core business, and we take care of everything else,” says Ewa Klimont, Country Manager at GreenYellow Polska.

CMC Sp. z o.o. does not bear any investment costs or engage its own capital – settlement is based on actually achieved production. The installation is scheduled to be launched in 2026, with the possibility of expanding the system to additional locations.

Manufacturer with experience and vision

CMC Sp. z o.o. has been operating in the market for over 31 years and is among the industry leaders in Poland and Europe. The plant in Andrychów is one of the most modern in the country. The company holds numerous quality certificates and compliance with international standards, including EPAL, ISO 9001:2015, FSC, PEFC and ISPM 15 (IPPC). Thanks to extensive drying infrastructure and flexible logistics, CMC delivers its products to key sectors such as food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

“For years we have been investing in modern production technologies and solutions that support environmental protection. The photovoltaic project in Andrychów is another step towards greater energy independence and reducing CO2 emissions. Cooperation with GreenYellow Polska allows us to practically implement our sustainable development strategy, without the need to engage our own investment funds,” emphasizes Andrzej Cinal, CEO of CMC Sp. z o.o.

Thanks to the investment, CMC Sp. z o.o. will increase the energy efficiency of production and strengthen its position as a leader in the wood industry, which consistently implements solutions reducing the impact of operations on the environment. The photovoltaic installation is part of the company’s long-term strategy, which assumes minimizing operational costs and achieving climate goals in the supply chain.
