Swiss-based energy company MET Group announces its entry into the Polish market through its Warsaw-based subsidiary MET Polska. The company’s activities will focus on supporting large energy-intensive enterprises as well as SME sector companies and renewable energy producers. As part of the Group’s international development strategy, Poland is the 21st country where MET establishes a subsidiary.
MET Group is an integrated energy company operating in four areas: trading and wholesale, end-customer sales, renewable energy production, and flexible asset management. MET Polska will focus on electricity and natural gas sales to end customers, both SME sector companies and large industrial consumers. The company will also be active in the area of origination for electricity and natural gas, as well as providing services for renewable energy sources. MET Polska already holds all necessary licenses that enable it to commence operations in Poland. The company has already signed its first contracts with customers, with implementation beginning in October.
“We are very pleased that after months of preparation, we can begin full-scale operations in Poland. Our goal is to provide entrepreneurs with access to flexible and modern energy and gas solutions on competitive terms, supporting them in implementing effective energy strategies. As part of MET Group, we guarantee our customers a partnership based on experience, reliability, and long-term commitment,” says Paweł Wierzbicki, CEO of MET Polska.
For Poland to achieve its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets in the coming years, both industrial decarbonization and striving for an appropriately balanced energy mix are necessary. MET Group plays an active role in European energy transformation and energy source diversification, particularly in the natural gas sector. Moreover, the company has one of Europe’s most geographically diversified LNG import structures. Both natural gas and LNG are very important for securing energy supplies needed to continue Europe’s green transformation. They support the transition from coal to gas and complement weather-dependent renewable energy sources.
MET Group MET Group is an integrated European energy company headquartered in Switzerland, with assets and operations in natural gas and electricity markets.
