OX2 secures over 51 MWp of solar energy at auction in Poland

OX2 obtained support for a photovoltaic farm project with an installed capacity exceeding 51 MWp in the state auction for the sale of electricity from renewable energy sources. The new investment by the Swedish developer will be built in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.

The OX2 Group has won another auction in Poland for the sale of electricity from renewable energy sources. In December last year, OX2 secured 205 MW in the RES auction in Poland, obtaining support for a wind farm with a total installed capacity of 40 MW and for a photovoltaic farm with a capacity of 165 MWp. In the main capacity market auction for 2029, the company also contracted capacity obligations for energy storage facilities with an installed capacity of 200 MW, securing contracts for two units.

Winning the auction is another step in developing our project portfolio. The result strengthens our position as an energy producer and renewable energy developer in the country. Poland has been a strong market for OX2 in recent years, and we continue the process of investing both in our project portfolio and in our local organization. Based on this latest state auction, we expect our participation in Poland’s energy transformation to increase in the coming years as well – says Tomasz Guzowski, President of OX2 in Poland.

Construction of the new photovoltaic farm in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is planned to begin in the third quarter of 2026. Its commissioning is scheduled for the turn of 2027 and 2028. Annual energy production from the investment will amount to approximately 55 GWh, which will allow powering nearly 22,000 households.

Poland is one of the key markets for OX2. We see great potential here for further development of renewable energy sources and we are ready to capitalize on it. Green transformation is not only a response to climate change, but also an opportunity to build a strong economy and ensure the country’s energy security – emphasizes Paul Stormoen, CEO of OX2.

The photovoltaic farm will be built in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in the Pińczów and Busko counties. This will be OX2’s third photovoltaic project in Poland. The company is also preparing to build a photovoltaic farm with a capacity of 165 MWp. Simultaneously, in the Opole Voivodeship, in the Niemodlin municipality, OX2 is constructing the Rutki PV farm with a capacity of 100 MWp.
